• The Beginners level keyboard course is designed to educate all our learners about the history of the keyboard, fundamental principles, playing techniques and an in-depth music literacy.  
  • The student is introduced to various musical pieces. 
  • The student learns how to play through step-by-step description and demonstration.

Overview of BEGINNER level

  • Total Duration: 72 – 96 sessions

For individual student, the duration of each grade is 20– 24 sessions. For 2 students, the duration for each grade is 34 – 40 sessions

  • Age  – 7 years and above at the Initial grade
  • Group Size:  Up to 2 learners  
  • Session Duration: 45 – 50 Minutes  
  • Schedule: Once A Week  

The student can appear for International certification in music (keyboard) at every Grade. Sapthora will train the students for the exams. The fee for the exam will be borne by the student.

Prerequisites to join the course:

  • The learner should be 7 years and above.  
  • The learner should have completed his Novice level.  
  • Should be well versed with the basics of music.

The Beginners course is from Initial – Grade 2.

  • Blue scales on D 
  • Chromatic Scale in contrary motion starting on D

Technical Work

  • E natural or harmonic minor 
  • Mixolydian scale on F / Dorian Scale on E
  • Blues Scale on E
  • F major or E minor pentatonic

Outcome by the end of the level:

  • The learner will be able to read the sheet with all its dynamics.  
  • The learner will develop a great theoretical and practical knowledge.  
  • Will develop a great sense of rhythm and pitch.  
  • Will be able to play sheet music with a given BPM of 90-100.

1. Which Certficate or Grade exam can my child appear for?

A: The student will be ready for appearing Trinity grade exam for Beginners which are Initial, Grade 1 and Grade 2.

2. Can my child appear for any other exam apart from Trinity?

A: Yes, the skill and finger movement of the student will reach a level where if he/she want to appear for any other exam they can just by learning the specific pieces which they have to present for the exam.

3. Who issues these international certificates?

A: The Trinity , Royal or the LCME music universities conduc the examination and the Govt. Of UK is the authority with the Queen if UK being the Chairperson . The certifictaes are issued under the above aegeis.

4. Which keyboard should I buy for my child?

A: After the student registers with Sapthora, the first class will be an ORIENTATION class. The teacher will provide you full assitance in such as case.

5. Can my child play basic simple tunes after the Initial grade?

A: Yes , he/she can play basic and popular rhymes and tunes.

6. Can I skip an exam?

A:  Usually no, but if the student is exceptionally good at a particular level or has finished the course content of the previous level, but was unable to give the exam, Sapthora can take a decision to assist such students.
